Restoration

Over two or three hundred years, furniture inevitably suffers damage from day to day usage and, in some cases, abuses.

During the past 25 years or so I have been engaged in restoring and replicating, to a high standard, Fine
antique furniture which has suffered in this way.

English, French and continental furniture both town and country are my special field with particular attention to colouring to achieve that look of well loved antiquity. The scope of our work covers not only antiques but more modem pieces also, all requiring a high degree of precision crafting, polishing, colouring and in depth understanding of patination.

Other areas we specialise in include, painted Austrian Empire furniture, Folk art, marquetry, inlaying including Boulle work, veneering including oyster, copy carving, turning, laminating, guilding and paint effects.

Throughout my career I have acquired a "feel" for styles and looks offurniture with particular attention to colouring and finishing including an ability to reproduce a patina. Our work has covered every type of woodworking and polishing discipline including the use of chemicals for cleaning and aging.
